In compiling a collection of Kentucky fiddle tunes, Jeff Todd Titon focused attention on an underrepresented genre of American regional vernacular instrumental music. In addition to documenting historical and living tradition, Titon also contributed personal research through his fieldwork with source musician Clyde Davenport.
