Music from Luzerne comes from the Luzerne Chamber Music Festival in Lake Luzerne, New York. All three performers featured here are faculty members at the music camp centered at the Luzerne Music Center, where talented young musicians receive training and present eight weekly concerts on Monday evenings during July and August. The festival was founded in 1980 by Phillips, an emeritus member of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and his wife, the pianist Blumenthal.
